KARACHI/LAHORE: Despite the ongoing global energy volatility caused by tensions in the Middle East, the Government of Pakistan has decided to maintain the current fuel prices for the first fortnight of April 2026.

Current Fuel Prices (Per Litre)

Why the Price Stayed Stable?

Sources indicate that the government absorbed a significant subsidy to keep prices from crossing the Rs. 350 mark. While international Brent crude remains high due to the Strait of Hormuz situation, a relatively stable Pakistani Rupee (PKR) against the US Dollar has allowed the government to avoid a price hike for now.

Impact on Commuters

With petrol remaining above Rs. 320, transporters in Karachi and Lahore are still maintaining high fare rates. Students are advised to utilize university point services or the Green/Orange Line metros to save on daily commuting costs.

Next Update: The next price review by OGRA is expected on April 15, 2026.
